About Stephen Whittier
Stephen is a best-selling author, speaker, successful owner of both brick-and-mortar and online businesses, as well as a marketing and success coach for entrepreneurs.
He graduated Summa cum Laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa from Wheaton College in Massachusetts, with dual majors in Literature and the highly selective Wheaton Scholar Program (with a self-designed major).
After college he worked for a couple years as an account coordinator at an advertising agency before returning to graduate school at Tufts University with a full academic scholarship. He also taught undergraduate classes as a lecturer in the university’s English and Writing department for four years as well as two semesters as a teaching assistant.
All throughout his academic and early professional careers he was a devoted martial artist and instructor. A passionate teacher, he has become one of the most decorated instructors over the years, earning black belts and/or instructor credentials in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, Filipino Martial Arts, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Jeet Kune Do, and has also trained numerous professional mixed martial artists from the UFC.
At the beginning of 2007 he followed his passion and turned his part-time martial arts club into a full-time academy. Within just a couple of years, Nexus Martial Arts & Fitness had grown to become one of the most successful, multiple award-winning schools in the Massachusetts.
For all his experience in academics, Stephen realized early on in his business career that most of it was not applicable to entrepreneurial success. This led him to apply the same discipline and drive he honed through his many years of martial arts training and teaching to enhancing his real-world business skills.
His quest for greater success led him to study the greats of direct response marketing and ultimately learn the secrets of the trade directly from some of the most successful entrepreneurs and coaches in the business and ultimately hone his own skills as a business and marketing coach.
